Solus Amor
Solus Amor is a cirque-danse production written and directed by Bence Vági with puppet design and direction by Janni Younge.
A polar bear and her cub move spirit-like through a world of swirling bodies and mists. The creatures’ fragile relationship with the human world and nature touches on a delicate triangle of life, love and vulnerability.

Production concept
Thousands of years have passed, and we are still questioning our existence on this lonely planet, floating in the darkness: what exactly is the purpose and reason for our momentary existence? Only in love is there encrypted a space for being with no distance, no questions, doubts, or solitude.
Art, as a space of experience, can offer solace on our path of divergence from nature. Solus Amor creates a reimagined point of contact, which embraces performer and audience in a vast yet intimate organic space, echoing nature.
Solus Amor is produced by Mupa Budapest in partnership with Recirquel Cirque Dance for CAFe Budapest Contemporary Arts Festival Budapest. Puppets created by Janni Younge Productions with puppet engineers Andy Jones, Jonah de Lange, Luke Younge.
